Horseback trail riding with Cave Creek Outfitters is a true Arizona adventure.  We are open year round/ 7 days a week and have proudly been in business since 1993.   We invite you to ride with us in our beautiful and unique Sonoran Desert on horseback as it’s been done for hundreds of years. 

Our ranch location in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area is convenient to all Scottsdale/Phoenix resorts and yet gets you away from the city and takes you horseback riding through the beautiful Tonto National Forest & Granite Mountain area in the Sonoran desert for an unforgettable trail ride. 

Cave Creek Outfitters is known for our wonderfully conditioned & well mannered horses for riders of all ages. We do have a 230 lb. weight limit and children must be 6 yrs. old to ride. (No double riding for the safety of the child & parent). 

Reservations are required (480-471-4635 or 1-888-921-0040) on all of our trail rides and have a maximum of 5 to 7 riders per group.  This allows your wrangler to personalize your horseback ride by talking about our horse herd, the desert cactus/plant & animal life you will see along your ride.  Booking a large group of family/friends . . . we will add more wranglers.

Transportation departs twice a day (Oct. thru May) from many Scottsdale Resorts for our 2 hr. and ½ day horseback ride for an additional $10 per person or drive out to the ranch and save.  See our Map for directions.  During the summer months (June thru Sept) we can provide transportation for our 8:00 am 2 hour ride only. 

Our 1 and 2 hour trail rides are available year round.  Because of the Arizona heat, our ½ day trail ride is only available mid- October thru April or below 90 degrees. 

We suggest wearing long pants, closed toed shoes & hats (hats must be tight).     Sunscreen is recommended.  Bottled water is provided.  Don’t forget your camera. 

All of our saddles have a canvas horn bag hanging on the front of your saddle to accommodate your camera, wallet, car keys & complimentary water.  (No Back Packs or Purses, please)  Having your camera available allows you to capture pictures of the towering saguaros and the beautiful scenery.  Have your wrangler be your photographer by taking a picture of you on your horse for a keepsake or proof of your Arizona experience.

Because of the elevation at our ranch, our temperatures are normally 5 to 7 degrees cooler than in town or at your resort.
